1-2

In political news, the new Iraqi government allowed Saddam Hussein and 11 of his top aides were allowed to watch a videotape of the election of Jalal Talabani as the new Iraqi president. Talk about rubbing salt in the wound. Ouch. Apparantly Saddam watched by himself and the others watched in a group.

In Colombia, FARC rebels ambushed an Army convoy, killing 17. BBC story here. Plan Colombia (which I have written about), isn't getting the job done.

In videogame news, Eidos revealed the "new" Lara Croft today. *Yawn* When is this series going to go away? Either that, or get a lot better than it has been for the last 5+ years?

My ESPN Baseball Challenge team was not helped today by Boston getting 14 hits (and on top of that, Varitek not playing); my Fastbreak team was also a flop. Fantasy Football is just five months away...

Today's Mariners game featured Boonie's first homer, which is nice. I'm hoping the Boone can put up some good numbers this year. Ichiro is now hitting .500, probably not too far from where his average will be at the end of the season. ;)

Today's game was only on the radio, which always irks me. Next up is a 3 game series against the Rangers, here at The Safe.

As of this writing, the Mariners are 1-2, last in the AL West, .5 games behind.
