Sopranos actor kills NYPD officer in shootout....

In a bit of serious and sad news for the blog today, the New York Times is reporting that an NYPD officer was killed in the line of duty, the second this year (both in the last two weeks).

Officer Daniel Enchautegui was killed while trying to stop two burglars at a home next to his. One of the shooters was Lillo Brancato Jr., who had a recurring role on "The Sopranos" and got his start in "A Bronx Tale."

Both of the burglars involved were wounded by Officer Enchautegui before he went down, one twice, the other four times.

Why would an actor, who's had a moderately successful career, be involved in something like this?! On top of the fact that the guy should be doing pretty well money-wise, what happens if someone sees him? Hope that they don't watch The Sopranos, or have seen any of his other works? What an idiot. I hope the perps in this crime get the maximum punishment allowed, which seems quite likely in this case.

My condolences to Officer Enchautegui's family and to the people who knew him.
