PS3 = $600....

Read the title, get the message.

Sony announced today the two configurations of PS3 set to be available at launch, 20GB for $499 and 60GB for $599.

I don't know if anybody told Sony or not, but that's double the price the PS2 launched at. I realize that inflation sucks, and that gas companies are gouging the hell out of us, but that doesn't justify doubling the price. $600 is rent for a lot of people.

On top of that, they took the rumble feature out of the controllers. Trying to steal Nintendo's thunder, Sony has decided to get rid of rumble, so you can tilt the controller to play games.

That's nice... for 5 year olds.

More from E3 to come.

  • I should also mention, the 20GB version doesn't have the extra expandable memory inputs, HDMI, or Wi-Fi.
