Booze, Baseball, and another "B"

That's the best way to sum up the Mariners' season. To take a cue from USS Mariner (who have another choice image up today):

When I was looking for an image to use, I found out that "trainwreck" returns much different results than "train wreck." Regardless, we're done. I'd LOVE for them to prove me wrong, but I don't see it. We've got the worst record in the American League, and almost have the worst in the majors. You know the season is done when people start calling for Griffey to come back, the same Griffey who right now isn't hitting, but does have a $16.5m cost for next year. The same Griffey who would be just another DH-type player on a roster full of them.

Our pitchers have been very good, especially our 1-3 (even the $48m-man, surprisingly). We've been getting quality starts all season long, and just can't do anything with them.

When the Rangers come into our house, and shut us out of almost 3-straight games worth of baseball, that's when you know it's time to stick a fork in it. Which is really too bad, the management hasn't been the best in the league, but it's not their fault that nobody on the team remembers that in the game of baseball you hit the ball with the stick you're holding (aka: bat) to win, not miss the ball.

At least Richie took his frustration out on the opposing team. It's too bad he didn't get a better hit in on Gabbard.
