David Hayter needs our help!

Having just finished MGS 4, I know now, more than ever, that we need a great Metal Gear Solid film. David Hayter thinks so too, but apparently Sony, who own the film rights, do not agree.

Mr. Hayter wants to write the MGS film script, but Sony isn't interested in having him work on it. Mr. Hayter has asked fans of good films to email Sony to rectify the misunderstanding (that is, we want a good movie and Sony doesn't understand that).

Please email matt_tolmach@spe.sony.com and tell him that you would like David Hayter to write the script for the Metal Gear Solid film.

In case you've forgotten, Mr. Hayter was the writer of X-Men and X2, two of the finest comic book films to come out of Hollywood. When you compare those two against the 3rd film (the existence of which I have disavowed), you see how important it is to have a writer on board who knows the source material and cares about it. Hayter also wrote the script which finally got Watchmen made (which is saying a lot, since that film was trying to find a script for years and years before Mr. Hayter came along). On top of all that, David Hayter has been involved with the Metal Gear franchise since it went "Solid." He's played through all the MGS games too. That's saying quite a bit.

Hopefully Sony is serious about making the Metal Gear Solid film (you'd think they would be since it would help their PS3 sales), and making the film a good movie to boot. It would be a miscarriage of justice for the Metal Gear Solid film to be made without David Hayter as the writer.
